This public house started life as the Bulls Head, becoming the Chandos by 1891.from its address on Chandos Street
The frontage is topped by a cooper working his craft on a balcony high up on the corner
Upstairs you can find the lounge, named the “Opera Room” after the English National Opera at the nearby London Coliseum
It has a special place in the history of Fijian troops in World War one. The original bar was carved with names of the troops serving here.
